Mass Inventory Valuation Report (Bulk CKM3N)
See every material's Material Ledger valuation in one report — no per-item CKM3N.
What problem does it solve?
CKM3N works one material at a time, so teams needing inventory valuation across thousands of materials must open each screen, capture it and consolidate by hand.
How does the solution work?
Conforcus's bulk CKM3N report pulls Material Ledger valuation across materials, valuation areas and periods at once, presenting standard cost, price differences and actual-cost tiers in a single table.
What changes in practice?
The report gets bulk access to the Material Ledger data that CKM3N reads for a single material; it performs no calculation of its own and shows the valuation exactly as it stands in the system. On the selection screen the user defines the scope with material, valuation-area and period filters. In the output, each row gives the position of a material in the given valuation area and period, with standard cost, price difference and actual cost read side by side on the same row. How far a material's actual cost departs from standard is therefore visible without switching screens, and no manually consolidated file sits in between.
What changes for the cost accounting team is the direction of the review: instead of opening materials individually and searching, the team looks at the full list, and materials with higher-than-expected price differences or a marked gap between standard and actual cost stand out. CKM3N is then opened only for the materials that need detailed analysis. The inventory controller follows inventory valuation by valuation area and period from the same table. The valuation summary for management is prepared from the same output as well, without piecing screenshots together.

Frequently asked questions
Does the report give the same figures as standard CKM3N, and can it be run before the Material Ledger close?
The report reads the Material Ledger data that CKM3N displays, so for the same material, valuation area and period it returns the same values as the single-material screen. Run before closing, it shows standard cost and the price differences accumulated so far, while the actual-cost tier becomes final only after the Material Ledger close is complete. The report is therefore used for a deviation check before close and for the final valuation review afterwards.
Is the report relevant to us if we do not use the Material Ledger or actual costing?
The report relies on Material Ledger data, so the Material Ledger must be active for the valuation areas concerned. The actual-cost tier is populated to the extent that Material Ledger actual costing is used; where it is not run, the tiers the report can present are limited accordingly. The scope is therefore clarified before setup by looking at the existing Material Ledger configuration.
When we see an abnormal price difference, do we correct it from this report?
No; the report reads and presents valuation data and does not post. It shows in which material, valuation area and period an unexpected difference sits, and the detailed analysis of the cause is done in CKM3N for that material. If a correction is needed, the responsible team makes it with the relevant standard SAP process, depending on where the difference originated.
