Automated Billing Process
Bill automatically the moment delivery completes — accelerate cash flow and accuracy.
What problem does it solve?
Post-delivery invoices are cut one by one, manually and late; workload is high, error rates rise and billing lag directly slows cash flow.
How does the solution work?
Conforcus's automated billing process turns completed deliveries into batch/automatic invoices by rule and triggers the output/dispatch step — minimizing billing lag and manual intervention.
What changes in practice?
The process runs on the standard chain from delivery to billing. Items whose delivery (VL01N) is complete fall into the billing due list; the billing batch job (VF01/VF04) makes a rule-based selection from that list and creates the invoices in bulk. Because rules decide which deliveries are billed in which run, nobody has to open deliveries one by one to raise an invoice. When the invoice is created, output determination takes over and the output and dispatch step is triggered automatically. The resulting document is a standard billing document and is reflected in accounting in the usual way.
Items the batch job cannot turn into an invoice stay open in the billing due list and appear in the job log with the reason. The team deals only with these exceptions, and a corrected item is billed in the next run. In daily work, sales operations and finance monitor the run results instead of cutting invoices, and as manual intervention falls so does the error rate. Because billing follows delivery closely, the invoice reaches the customer earlier, collection starts earlier and cash flow is freed from the effect of late billing.
Benefits
- Billing follows delivery — an automatic flow instead of lost days
- Manual invoicing workload and error rates fall sharply
- Faster billing means faster collection and healthier cash flow

Frequently asked questions
Standard SAP already has collective billing; what does this package add on top?
The standard billing due list shows the documents waiting to be billed, and working through it is left to the user. The package adds rule-based selection, the billing batch job and automatic dispatch through output determination on top of that list, so delivery-completed items turn into invoices without anyone starting the run by hand. The billing document remains standard; what changes is that billing follows delivery without delay and with minimal manual intervention.
What happens to an item that cannot be billed automatically, and can it slip through?
An item the batch job cannot bill stays open in the billing due list and appears in the job log with the reason. After the responsible team has fixed the cause, the item is billed in the next run. Because the team follows only these exceptions instead of cutting every invoice by hand, open items are easier to spot.
How often are invoices created, and does every delivery have to go through the automatic flow?
The frequency of the batch job is not fixed; it is defined during setup according to the company's shipping pattern and billing calendar. Selection rules define which deliveries enter the automatic flow, and documents left outside the rules stay in the billing due list and can be billed manually. For invoices created automatically, the dispatch step is triggered through output determination.
