Customer Dunning & Collection Process
Auto-generate dunning for overdue receivables — pursue collections with discipline.
What problem does it solve?
Dunning letters for overdue receivables are prepared manually; sending is irregular, follow-up depends on individuals, and the collection process lacks discipline. Overdue receivables grow and cash flow suffers.
How does the solution work?
Conforcus dunning & collection auto-generates staged dunning notices for overdue receivables, sends them and runs collection follow-up in a structured process. Which account received which dunning level is clearly tracked in the system.
What changes in practice?
The solution is built on the standard dunning process in SAP FI (F150). The dunning run selects overdue open items; the staged dunning logic determines the dunning level for each account according to how far it is in arrears, and the corresponding notice is generated and sent automatically. Items that remain unpaid move up a level in the next run. Which account received which dunning level stays on record in the system, and the collection worklist puts the dunned accounts in front of the team and shows where follow-up should start.
The collections team starts the day from the worklist rather than from memory, and follow-up rests on the system instead of individual notes. If people on the team change, follow-up continues from the same worklist. Because dunning is sent regularly, the risk of an overdue receivable being overlooked falls. The process is integrated with aging and credit management: aging shows which receivables are overdue, and dunning-level information can be used in credit decisions. Management follows the state of overdue receivables through the dunning levels and assesses how the collection process is working from the same records.

Frequently asked questions
How is this different from SAP's standard dunning function (F150)?
The solution does not replace the standard dunning process; it extends it. Staged dunning logic, automated dispatch and a collection worklist are added on top, together with integration to the aging and credit management processes. Standard dunning data continues to be used, so the existing setup is preserved.
How are dunning levels determined, and how do the notices reach the customer?
Dunning levels are set by the staged dunning logic according to how overdue the receivable is, and the conditions for each stage are defined during implementation in line with the company's collection policy. The notice for each level is generated and sent automatically. Which account received which level is tracked in the system, so dispatch does not depend on individuals.
How does collection follow-up work, and how is it linked to aging and credit management?
Dunned accounts drop into the collection worklist, and the team runs follow-up from that list in a structured process. The solution is integrated with the aging and credit management processes, where overdue information and dunning status are assessed together. Collection, dunning and credit decisions therefore rest on the same data.
