SAP consulting for automotive manufacturers and suppliers
In automotive, price pressure and delivery discipline mean you need to know the true cost of every part, every month. Conforcus advises vehicle manufacturers and suppliers on PP-CO production costing, MM supply processes and S/4HANA transformation.
Automotive is where manufacturing expertise is tested hardest. A supplier manages many part numbers, frequently changing bills of material and the OEM's yearly price-reduction targets at once. Raw material and exchange rate swings move part cost within the month; the gap between quoted and actual cost shows only when PP, CO and MM work together. Export-heavy companies also handle imports, incentivized procurement and FX differences.
Conforcus applies its manufacturing costing expertise to the automotive supply chain. We treat PP-CO production costing, MM purchasing and supply, and SD shipping and billing as one design, with global automotive standards in view from the start. After the S/4HANA transformation we support the system through AMS. Ready-made solutions such as purchase price approval, import management, the COGS statement and inflation accounting are added as needed.
Where automotive companies struggle
- Cost and margin per part arrive late, so OEM price negotiations start with incomplete data.
- Bill of material and routing changes reach costing late; standard cost goes stale and variances grow.
- Purchase prices, quotation comparisons and import costs are tracked outside SAP, so material cost settles late.
- Custom developments on a legacy ERP or ECC complicate the S/4HANA move, and go-live cannot stop production.
What Conforcus delivers in automotive
- PP-CO production costing: standard and actual cost per part, variance analysis and the COGS statement.
- MM supply chain and purchasing: price approval via info records, import management and procurement KPI reports.
- S/4HANA transformation: finance, production, purchasing and sales processes rebuilt across PP, CO, MM and SD.
- SAP AMS after go-live: ongoing support across finance, production costing, purchasing and sales processes.
From the field
Altay Otomotiv's S/4HANA transformation went live on 1 January 2025. The project covered PP-CO production costing, MM and SD, and our AMS support continues. In Coşkunöz Holding's automotive group, a greenfield S/4HANA transformation was followed by AMS.
In automotive, our inflation accounting solution was implemented at SAF Holland and Otokar. Our references in the sector also include BMC, Temsa, Mubea Otomotiv, Doğan Trend, Martur Fompak, Pimsa, Opsan and Tredin Otomotiv.

Frequently asked questions
How do we see cost and margin per part in SAP?
Standard cost comes from the bill of material and routing, actual cost from the production order and Material Ledger. With PP and CO designed together, variance and margin per part come from one system.
Should we move to S/4HANA greenfield or by converting the existing system?
It depends on how much of your current process design and custom development is worth keeping. In Coşkunöz Holding's automotive group we went greenfield; we always review the existing system first.
How does support continue after go-live?
After go-live we continue with SAP AMS, as at Altay Otomotiv and Coşkunöz Holding. Most of our reference clients are under AMS, and our client retention rate is 95%.
